Email templates in Dubsado help you communicate consistently with clients, without rewriting the same messages over and over again.
Before you start creating or editing templates, it’s important to understand that Dubsado uses two different types of email templates: Custom and Default - and they serve very different purposes.
Custom email templates are where you build the emails you’ll use repeatedly throughout your business. This is an open workspace where you can create any messages that support your client process - from inquiry responses and onboarding emails, to follow-ups, offboarding notes, and everything in between.
Dubsado does provide a few starter templates here, such as payment-related emails and appointment reminders, which you can modify to suit your tone and workflow. Beyond that, this space is intentionally flexible so you can design emails that reflect how you work with clients.
Default email templates, on the other hand, are system-generated and installed by Dubsado. These emails send automatically when specific actions occur, such as a contract being signed, or an appointment being cancelled. . While these templates can be edited for wording and branding, their triggers and purpose are built into the platform.
Understanding the difference between these two template types will help you decide where to focus your time, and ensure your emails are sending at the right moments without extra manual work.

Click into Messages > Custom Templates > Click the '+' to create a new custom email template, or click into an existing one to edit. (You can also edit the Default Templates by selecting it from the list, then clicking into your desired default template)
Be sure to click 'Save' once complete.
