Uploading your video to Vimeo is a simple and professional way to host your content before sharing it with clients, students, or your email platform. Vimeo gives you control over your video’s privacy, presentation, and playback experience, making it a great option for delivering program content, tutorials, or pre-recorded trainings.
In the steps below, we’ll walk through how to upload your video, set a custom thumbnail, and retrieve your share link or embed code so you can easily use it in your course, emails, or website.
Step-by-step: Uploading a video to Vimeo
From your Vimeo dashboard, click Upload.

Select the video file(s) from your computer.

Once your video begins uploading, set your video title.
Click the + sign and choose Upload an Image to add your custom thumbnail.

After your image is uploaded, click directly on your desired thumbnail to select it.
You’ll know it’s selected properly when you see a black border around the image.

When your video is ready to share, click Copy link to grab the video URL, or click Embed to copy the embed code.

Helpful tip for dripped programs
When sharing video links for a dripped program, it’s a good idea to remove Vimeo’s end screens. By default, Vimeo may recommend other videos to your viewers at the end of playback, which can be distracting or take them away from your intended learning path.
Using your Vimeo video
Once your video is uploaded and your share link or embed code is ready, you can plug it directly into your course, website, email sequence, etc. Hosting your videos on Vimeo gives you a clean, professional playback experience while keeping your content organized and easy to manage.
