Uploading your videos to YouTube is one of the simplest ways to host and share your content — whether you’re delivering lessons in a dripped program, embedding videos on your website, or sharing links with clients. YouTube gives you flexibility around privacy settings, reliable playback, and easy access to both share links and embed codes.
In the steps below, we’ll walk you through how to upload your video in YouTube Studio, set a custom thumbnail, choose the right visibility settings, and retrieve your video link so you can use it inside your course, emails, or automation workflows.
Step-by-step: Uploading a video to YouTube
In the top-right corner, click Create, then select Upload video.

Select your video file from your computer.

Ensure you’ve entered your video title.
Click on the thumbnail area to upload a custom thumbnail image.

Once your thumbnail is uploaded, click Next to move through the setup screens.

Before publishing, decide your video visibility:
Public: Visible on your YouTube channel and searchable.
Unlisted: Only people with the link can view it (recommended for most course/drip content).
Private: Not recommended — this requires you to manually add individual email addresses for access.
At this point, your video link already exists — you can copy it from this screen.
Click Save to publish your video.

You’ll have another opportunity to copy your video link after publishing.
